ISS and Endeavour Crews
NASA TV
The crew of the space shuttle Endeavour have boarded the International Space Station (ISS). The STS-123 mission will visit the ISS for 12 days. It will be the longest visit of a shuttle to the ISS so far.

Endeavour launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Canter, Cape Canaveral, on Tuesday at 2:28 a.m. EDT in a rare nighttime launch. Docking occurred Wednesday at 11:49 p.m. The hatches between Endeavour and the ISS were opened today at 1:36 a.m.

During this visit, five spacewalks will take place to install the Canadian-built Dextre robotic arm and the first component of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s (JAXA) Kibo laboratory.

Kibo (key‐boh) means "hope". It is Japan’s first human‐rated space facility. It took 23 years to develop. Once fully assembled it will be the largest experimental module on the ISS.
